The 6th Ward is home to the unique restaurant Café Trinidad, in fact the first restaurant of its kind in the city of Chicago. What do you ask is so special about this restaurant? It’s the fact that the restaurant specializes in food from Trinidad and Tobago which contain influences from several different countries, and therefore cannot be categorized as “Caribbean” or “Jamaican” cuisine.

The owner of Café Trinidad is Darryl Hicks and the business has been going strong for five years. The restaurant is located at 557 E. 75th Street right at the corner. It’s easy to spot decorated with native flags just above a black awning.
